Trade fair participation of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region

The OPIE - OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition - will take place again at the end of April 2025 in Pacifico Yokohama.
In the meantime, OPIE has become one of the largest and most important trade fairs in Japan/Asia in the field of laser optics and communication technology. Other subject areas include light sources & optical devices, space & astronomy optics, sensors & imaging and lens development.

Due to restructuring in the trade fair landscape in Japan and close cooperation with the OPIC conference (OPIC2025 - OPTICS and PHOTONICS International Congress (opicon.jp), the event is growing steadily and is also becoming increasingly popular internationally.

In 2023, the trade fair again reached the figures of 2019, before the pandemic, with a continuing upward trend, especially in terms of international visitors and exhibitors.

Since the 2023 cooperation with the state of Thuringia, represented for the first time with a state stand on site, companies and institutions from both states have been offered an interesting additional program in the last two years. In 2023, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg organized a themed excursion in the Tokyo area and a workshop with a state reception in the evening. Thuringia took over the management of the workshop and the evening reception in 2024, in close cooperation with Berlin and Brandenburg. In addition, the traditional get-together for guests and exhibitors was once again held at the trade fair stand.

The newly created synergies are to be continued in 2025 if possible. In addition to companies from the capital region, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute and the European network EPIC are also involved in the presentation in Japan.

Once again, we can offer interested companies, scientific institutions and networks from the capital region a cost-effective participation in an attractive setting. Berlin Partner for Business and Technology has once again been entrusted by the Senate with the implementation of an industry information stand - financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State of Berlin - and is organizing this in cooperation with the Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
